Xahsan is a old bird. I’m undecided on his exact lineage, but his most recent backstory is he’s the illicit offspring of a person and animal (most likely a griffin). The main species of this world (name tbd) is a diverse species of hybrids, having mixed for centuries so that if there were other species, they’ve long been assimilated. Their ability to breed with most other species extends to animals, though it’s incredibly taboo.

He’s capable of limited speech, taking great pains to improve for the sake of his adopted daughter. Xahsan struggles to fit into proper society, being mistaken as a pet more often than not. Xahsan was lucky though, and was chosen to be Zan’s Guardian. Less of a job, more of a job title, Xahsan was Zan’s mortal representative on Altara, though as the deities are in hiding it is not a job he gets credit for.
