Kicking off a new PMD webcomic! c:

PMD: WildFire is a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon webcomic loosely based off of a Nuzlocke playthrough of PMD DX. Autumn the Fennekin and Koda the Treecko must come together to rescue those in need, figure themselves out, and maybe save the world from the growing natural disasters and mysterious dungeons.

The first chapter is completed and will be posted every Monday. You can also follow along on ComicFury.

A quick FAQ:

What is a Nuzlocke?
A Nuzlocke is a playthrough of a Pokemon game with two key rules: you may only catch the first Pokemon you encounter in an area and if a Pokemon faints it is dead. I had to wiggle some of these rules for a PMD Nuzlocke, but I’ll get to that in a sec.

As this comic is based off of PMD DX, how does it differ?
In general, I’m just using the game/playthrough as guidelines, but don’t plan on sticking rigorously to it. So expect differences from the in-game story, world, and characters.
Additionally, I’m including Pokemon species from newer generations, as PMD DX only includes the first 386 Pokemon, plus some extras.
Autumn the Fennekin, is an example of this. In-game, my main starter was a Charmander, but I’ve gone through several iterations of this ideas for this Nuzlocke comic (story, game, etc) and a few iterations I really liked had a Fennekin main character. So when I settled on PMD DX, I wanted to keep her as a Fennekin in-comic.

What rules did you use for this Nuzlocke?
1. If a Pokemon faints it is dead. No Reviver Seeds, no do-overs.
Special rule: PMD games don’t let you remove your starters from the active party until post-credits. If a starter dies, I will randomly choose another Pokemon in the active team to take their place. I will then accurately kill off the starter in-comic (essentially correcting the timeline to what should have been).
2. Only recruit the first Pokemon that asks to join per dungeon.
— This doesn’t have to be the first time I enter a dungeon, as most pre-credits dungeons prevent you from getting recruits the first time. Just whoever asks first.
