Very late I got the idea to draw Crystal as a mermaid for MerMay and in a more painterly style since I’ve been following a lot of artists who do. I’ve also been meaning to try out CSP’s painting brushes. And I’ve been playing a LOT of New Pokemon Snap and love the picturesque level design. AND sprinkled in some glass fish, because they look cool and crystal sort like glass.

Combining all of that (and a break in the middle where I almost quit because this was way out of my comfort zone) and you get this! I’m really proud of it~
