Bebemy/Floem/Flormadam [PBFP]
Oof it’s been awhile. Doing okay, though!
Bebemy (Cornflower/Cherry/Suncup/Sorrel) [Bug/Fairy] -> Floem (Cornflower/Cherry/Suncup/Sorrel) [Bug/Fairy] -> Flormadam (Cornflower/Cherry/Suncup) [Bug/Fairy]
Such a weird fusion! Jump below for the dex if you don’t care for the math/explanation.
First off: the forms/stages. Burmy has 3 forms but then evolves into one of two evolutions: Wormadam (3 forms) or Mothim (1 form). Flabebe has 3 stages with 5 forms each. Averaging those for the resulting fusion, that’s 1>1.5>.5 stages and 4>4.5>2.5 forms. Since their are forms for stage 3, we convert the stages to 1>1>1 (the extra halves are combined, so the split evolution is lost). To balance out the forms (and save myself the headache), I chose a 4>4>3 configuration.
Then I have to match the existing stages/forms to that configuration. For Burmy, I split them based on the 2nd stage variations: Female Plant, Female Trash, Female Sandy, and Male (because coat doesn’t matter), while for Flabebe I combined the two most similar colors (white and yellow) to cut it down to 4. I then paired the Burmy and Flabebe forms based on color (Plant [Green] to Blue, Trash [Pink] to Pink, Sandy [Yellow] to White/Yellow, and Male [Mothim/Orange] to Orange). With Flabebe being an all female line, I felt like it made sense for the Male forms to have one less stage.
It’s then a weird situation where Bebemy is always a Burmy/Flabebe fusion and Flormadam are all Wormadam/Florges fusions, but Female Floem are Burmy/Wormadam/Floette fusions while Male Floem is a Mothim/Floette/Florges fusion.
FYI the flowers pictured behind them are not their namesakes…I drew those before coming up with names–whoops! Just imagine scientists named them after those flowers thinking they only liked those and then too late realizing their mistake.
Bebemy decorate their bodies with material found from the area they live in, choosing the best materials for flower growth. As they evolve, they grow their own personal garden mane and are more comfortable leaving their birthplace. Scientists have noted 4 distinct types:
– Cornflower Bebemy prefer blue flowers. They are the most adept of female Bebemy at growing flowers and have succeeded at growing them by their second stage, Floem. When they reach Flormadam their mane has become fully enriched and is excellent at keeping their personal garden ever-green.
– Cherry Bebemy (sometimes called Blossom Bebemy) prefer pink flowers. They gather materials that many might consider junk, but through careful balancing and a highly scientific understanding of their coat, they have the most varied coat in their final stages.
– Suncup Bebemy prefer light yellow flowers. They are often found in inhospitable environments, but, due to their limitations, their mane grows the most hardy flowers. When transplanted, these flowers remain their hardy qualities and have helped conservationists reclaim arid land.
– Sorrel Bebemy prefer orange flowers. They are all male, which seems problematic for the species to find mates given difference genders prefer different flowers, but in lieu of a 3rd stage they are the most adept of all Bebemy at growing flowers. By the time they reach their second stage, they have already crafted their flower mane into a pair of wings they can use to ride the winds.
