The protective shell around Minio is stronger than stone, but most are comprised of material similar to reptilian scales. Roll Minio are the exception; their shell is actually made of rock and has never been observed to break.

Minio are a very active, but fragile Pokemon. Their energetic movements constantly break down their protective shell until it breaks. Minio in this form will flying around in dance-like patterns until they have expended their energy, sleep, and regenerate their shells.
