Some worldbuilding: Pokemon living in towns or settlements are expected to have basic reading or writing skills. For writing, a Pokemon’s dialect depends on their appendages (claws, nubby feet, fins, etc), but they should be able to decipher similar dialects. A basic education would help the reader further decipher words in dissimilar dialects.
