Filter Behavior: Basic Filters

When the Basic option is selected for filters, filters with no values set are ignored.

The exact behavior of these filters depends on the Basic Filters Operator setting. The Settings menu has an explanation of this. But further clarification on the 'Match one per filter' default setting:

Multi-select filters use an OR operation for selected values. E.g. if the Type Filter is set to Fire and Water, Pokémon returned will be Fire OR Water-typed.
Filters on fields with multiple values (e.g. Pokémon can have up to 2 types) will include Pokémon where at least one value matches. E.g. the last example would return pure and dual Fire-types AND pure and dual Water-types.
Between set filters an AND operation is used. E.g. if the Color Filter is set to Blue and the Generation Filter is set to Gen 1, Pokémon returned will be Blue AND Gen 1.
A final of the above two rules: if the Color filter is Blue and Green and the Type filter is Fire and Water, the returned Pokémon will be "(Blue OR Green) AND (Fire OR Water)". Or more simply: Blue Fire-types, Blue Water-types, Green Fire-types, OR Green Water-types.

Filter Behavior: Advanced Filters

When using advanced filters, they work as follows:

Non-numeric filters have four options that can be selected:

AND (green &) - An AND operation is performed on the set filters. This filter is required and all returned Pokémon must match it. E.g. Fire AND Water-type.
OR (orange ||) - An OR operation is performed on the set filters. All returned Pokémon must meet at least one filter set with this value. E.g. Fire OR Water-type.

If only one OR filter is set, it acts like an AND operation (all returned Pokémon must meet the filter).

NOT (red !) - A NOT operation is performed on the set filters. All returned Pokémon must not meet this filter. E.g. NOT a Fire OR Water-type
Ignore (grey null) - Default selection. Filters with this value set are ignored.

Numeric filters have three inputs for each of the above options (except for Ignore).

Numeric filters have a label in front of them noting what type of operations they perform. These operations act similar to non-numeric operations. AND (green &) are required, OR (orange ||) must meet one, NOT (red !) cannot match.
If all filters are left blank, the filter is ignored.

Filters on fields with multiple values (e.g. Pokémon can have 1 to 2 types) will include a Pokémon if at least one value matches if other filters allow for it.

E.g. Type Filter: Fire is set to AND: pure Fire and dual Fire-types are included.
E.g. Type Filter: Fire is set to AND, Water is set to OR, and Grass is set to OR: Fire/Water dual types and Fire/Grass dual types are returned.
E.g. Type Filter: Fire is set to AND, Water is set to NOT: pure Fire-types and dual Fire-types that are NOT Fire/Water are returned.

Note: competing values will cause no Pokémon to be returned.

E.g. Pokémon can only have one body shape; if two or more Body Shape filters are set to AND, no Pokémon will be returned.
E.g. Pokémon must have a body shape; if all Body Shape filters are set to NOT, no Pokémon will be returned.
For fields that are not required (like Tags), Pokémon can still be returned if all values are set to NOT. E.g. If all Tags are set to NOT, then Pokémon without tags will be returned.

Filter Behavior: Numeric Filters

Numeric filters are filters for number-based stats. When using numeric filters, they work as follows:

Numeric filters do a "between" operation. The first value is the minimum and the second value is the maximum.
These values are included in the calculation. E.g. if Attack is set from 50 to 100, Pokémon returned have an Attack between 50 and 100, including 50 and 100.
If no values are set, all Pokémon are returned.

Filter: Form Type

The type of form the Pokémon's form is. See below for the definied types:

Default - the base or default form of a Pokemon species, defined by official sources.

For Pokemon with no forms, the only form is the default. E.g. Bulbasaur
For Pokemon with forms who can change between them, this is often the form it starts in or reverts to. E.g. Normal Arceus
For Pokemon who have, but cannot change between forms, this is usually the "primary" form in the game files. E.g. Unown A

Alternate - any non-default forms of a Pokemon species. E.g. all Arceus types (except for Normal) are alternate forms
Cosmetic - a special type of alternate form, cosmetic forms are alternate forms that have no difference from their default form, except for appearance. E.g. all Alcremie forms (except for Strawberry Vanilla Cream) are cosmetic forms
For the purposes of the filters, Alternate and Cosmetic are considered distinct types. So setting Alternate to display will not show Cosmetic forms

Filter: Generation

Generation the Pokémon's form was introduced. E.g. Venusaur was introduced in Gen. 1 but Mega Venusaur was introduced in Gen. 6.

Core game acronyms are only included to assist in remembering which generation is which, they are not included in calculations for this filter.

Filter: Form Tags

Note: Not all Pokémon have form tags, selecting all form tags will exclude untagged Pokémon. Most form tags are based on official Pokémon designations (e.g. Mega, Gigantamax).

Battle-Only - Forms that are only available during a battle. After battle, they will revert to another form. E.g. Sunny Castform
Event - Forms only available through Nintendo Events. E.g. PokéBall Vivillon
Fusion - Forms that are the result of combining two Pokémon. E.g. Black Kyurem (Zekrom + Kyurem)
Gigantamax - Gigantamax Forms. E.g. Gigantamax Alcremie
Mega - Mega Forms. E.g. Mega Mewtwo Y
Primal - Primal Forms. E.g. Primal Kyogre
Regional - Regional Forms. E.g. Alolan Meowth, Galarian Rapidash
Sexually Dimorphic - Pokémon with gendered forms or gender differences. E.g. Female/Male Meowstic, Pikachu (female has heart-shaped tail)
Special - Forms that aren't "normal" alternate forms, but are special cases. E.g. Cosplay Pikachu (only obtainable in ORAS), Eternal Floette (unobtainable outside of hacking), Battle Bond Greninja (transferred from the SM Demo), etc
Switchable - Forms that can change (not counting evolution). For one way form changes, only the original form (not the new form) is marked. E.g. Shadow Lugia can be changed into (basic) Lugia, but Lugia cannot be changed into Shadow Lugia (in-game)

Filter: Species Tags

Note: Not all Pokémon have species tags, selecting all species tags will exclude untagged Pokémon. Most species tags are based on official Pokémon designations (e.g. Legendary, Fossil).

Baby - Pokémon designated as Baby Pokémon, typically obtained by breeding. E.g. Pichu
Fossil - Pokémon designated as Fossil Pokémon, typically obtained by reviving from a Fossil item. E.g. Aerodactyl
Legendary - Pokémon designated as Legendary Pokémon. E.g. Mewtwo
Mythical - Pokémon designated as Mythical Pokémon, typically obtained through Nintendo events. E.g. Mew
Paradox - Pokémon designated as Paradox Pokémon. E.g. Great Tusk
Pseudo-Legendary - A fan-term for Pokémon that have 3 stages and a base stat total of 600. See Bulbapedia for more information. E.g. Dragonite
Starter - Core game starters that have 3 stages and are Grass, Water, or Fire typed. E.g. Bulbasaur, Wartortle, Charizard
Ultra Beast - Pokémon designated as Ultra Beasts. E.g. Buzzwole
